LA COSTRUZIONE DELLA CITTA’ MODERNA
Gli archivi degli architetti del Novecento a Reggio Emilia
The volume examines the fundamental role of the archives of Reggio Emilia architects in reconstructing the history of Reggio Emilia throughout the 20th century. Through a critical and cultural perspective, it highlights how this heritage represents a valuable source for understanding the city’s urban, architectural, and cultural development. These archives not only help us interpret the past but also inform present and future design choices, fostering an active debate within the local, academic, and institutional communities.
Produced in collaboration with Fondazione Palazzo Magnani, this richly illustrated book collects and discusses the projects and works of Guido Tirelli (1883–1940), Pietro Cavicchioni (1890–1981), Prospero Sorgato (1891–1959), Carlo Lucci (1911–2000), Enea Manfredini (1916–2008), Cooperativa Architetti e Ingegneri and Osvaldo Piacentini (1922–1985), Antonio Pastorini (1922–2021), and Eugenio Salvarani (1925–1967).
